Interest and taxes
The interest income is credited to your Advanzia account monthly without deduction of tax (exception: customers resident in Luxembourg). As part of the automatic exchange of information, Advanzia Bank S.A. will report the amount of your interest income to the relevant tax authorities on an annual basis. However, this exchange of information does not release you from the obligation to report your interest income in your annual tax return.
You can view the interest rate applicable to you for the Advanzia account on your monthly account statements. You can find your account statements on your customer portal.
As the interest is credited monthly and accrues interest in the following month, the so-called compound interest effect is created. This is why there is a nominal interest rate and an effective interest rate. As banks credit interest on different dates, you can only compare the effective interest rate.
Interest is calculated according to the following formula:
Interest = (deposits x nominal interest x interest days) / (365 x 100)
Please note that interest is paid on your credit balance on a daily basis. Interest is credited at the end of each month and is shown separately on the account statement.
As Advanzia Bank is based in Luxembourg, it is not possible to set up an exemption order. Your interest income will be reported to the tax office responsible for you. This means that we do not pay any taxes. If the exemption amount is exhausted, it is your responsibility to report this accordingly.
As Advanzia Bank is based in Luxembourg, it is not possible to submit a non-assessment certificate. The interest income is reported to the tax office responsible for you.
The minimum deposit on the Advanzia account is . From this deposit onwards, interest is paid on your entire balance.
The TIN (Tax Identification Number) is your personal tax identification number.
